I volunteered to work our local Star Wars Reads (for those of you who don't know, it is a SW themed event designed to bring kids into the library and get them reading) with one of the 501st guys (If your reading this Matt, I had a lot of fun, we should do it again sometime), and as it turns out, I got photographed by the local Newspaper!

Sadly, I couldn't read the whole article (don't have a subscription), but here's the link!

Also, got a REALLY nice shot in the photo gallery ;)

Guess the photographer liked my Mandalorian!  I think that is going to be my new desktop....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's see, what else have I been up to....

Ah yes, I've been doing some research on haw to make wings, in prep for a Landfall soldier costume from my favorite comic, Saga.   Incidentally, for those of you over 18, if you haven't read this incredible comic, you should definitely do so.  Not made for young readers though, as a movie, I imaging the rating would look something like this:
NC-17: SC, L, V, N, D
Not to mention some very disturbing concepts....that said, it has beautiful artwork, and an incredible storyline....I anxiously await every issue.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, I can't wait until the next Hunger Games movie comes out....re-read all the books to prep....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I think that s all for now!  Peace out!

EE-33
Been working on my blaster for the last week or two....finished it a couple days ago.  Ta-da!  Was originally one of those crappy-lookin' hasbro ones...filled in all the screw holes, and painfully, slowly, rebuilt all the missing fins....and filled any hollow spots that shouldn't have been.....and sanded....endlessly....i hate sanding.....

Then it was just painting...and waiting....and painting....and waiting...and painting....and waiting some more....

And lastly, leather wrapped the stock and handle.

Although, all manhours and material included, was still WAAAAAY cheaper then buying one off of anyone else....

Now, I know these are 3/4 size, but that's fine for me, I have small hands.

Sheb-Kicking Mando Boots
Ta-Da!!!

Base is a pair of $20 boots I got at Wally-world, Drafted a pattern and made the spats myself, Armor is all metal....I like putting plates on the back, because I feel like a lot of mando costumes look blank from the back.

Please ignore the shoelace hanging out the bottom of the right one, I didn't feel like lacing them up for a 30 second shoot.

Yes, those are both my legs, and yes, double-jointed knees means I really can bend them like that....

BTW, how did I do on my weathering?  I wasn't looking for super-filthy, but I did want them to look like they got worn, and worn a lot.

Armor back
Weathered and tape don my vest!  Yay!  Giggling like a loon here....

when I actually install the chicago screws on my armor, I'll update the pic, and notify you all....

The girth belt is a little loose around the waist on my dress dummy, simply because its maximum hip size is a little smaller than mine.  Also, there is actually a lot of subtle weathering that makes it look very worn, that just doesn't show up on camera....oh well.

Also, here is an opportunity for you to see the back of my girth belt/belt pouches....kinda proud of the one on the right, seeing as I made that entirely from scratch (that includes the textured material, that is custom made by moi)

Thoughts, comments, opinions?  If you have any suggestions, now's the time....

Many years ago, upon this day, the world witnessed something awesome. When the smoke cleared and rubble was moved aside, they found something; You had been born to this world and ever since that day the world has been waiting for something similarly awesome to happen again.
So, Happy birthday! :salute:
